Congratulations Benjamin Dutreux!
Benjamin has just completed his second Vendée Globe in 77d, 3h, 39 min and 24 sec. For the second time, our skipper is in the TOP 10 with an old-generation boat (2015) and against a fleet where recent machines have logically dominated the front-runners. Objective achieved! 💪
It was a hot one!
And that’s saying a lot: this last week was particularly intense, with a series of technical problems. But Benjamin didn’t give up and fought relentlessly to defend his tenth place against Clarisse Crémer.
In a race against the clock, he made a bold decision to go for it, despite the weather conditions, in the Bay of Biscay. After crossing the finish line, and following consultation between the team and race management, he finally headed for La Rochelle for safety reasons. Now out of race mode, he plans to reach a calmer area before his team comes aboard to help him into port. Arrival is scheduled for around 2 a.m., where his team is eagerly awaiting his arrival.
